About the Musée de l’Homme

On 10 June, 1793, a decree by the National Conventional gave rise to the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (MNHN), the direct heir to the Royal Medicinal Plants Garden created in 1635. This major institution for scientific research and the dissemination of knowledge upholds five main missions and now consists of twelve establishments throughout France. One of these is the Musée de l’Homme, located in the Palais de Chaillot.
