The Musée de l’Homme is part of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (MNHN), a public institution under the double patronage of two ministries: the Ministry of Higher Education and Research; and the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy.
The Musée de l’Homme is an MNHN museum. With the evolution of humans and human societies as its focus, the museum upholds the MNHN’s five-fold mission: conservation of collections, research, expertise, higher education and broad dissemination of knowledge
