Prehistory is an offshoot field of anthropology. It focuses on the remains of hominids and the fauna and flora they were associated with, as well as their environments and the cultural evidence left behind at the sites they occupied.
From March 2014 through November 2015, none of the Prehistory collections were available for loan without previous consent due to restoration works and redistribution in the renovated store rooms at the Musée de l’Homme.
As of December 2015, loan requests may once again be considered for objects that are not on permanent display, depending on their state of restoration and the renovation of the museum.
