Services for your comfort

Left luggage/cloakrooms

Free left-luggage office available on the 1st floor of the Museum.

Changing table

Changing tables are available in the Men’s and Ladies’ toilets on the 1st floor of the Galerie de l’Homme.

Equipment loans

Equipment to make your visit more comfortable is available at the Group reception desk on the 1st floor. Wheelchairs, portable seats and visual aids are available upon request, just ask our staff.

Hearing loops are installed in the reception areas, the Galerie de l’Homme, the Jean Rouch auditorium, and the educational workshops. All videos are subtitled in French. Many of the videos are also available in French sign language.
A haptic model of the building, available on the 1st floor, helps you to get your bearings in the various museum spaces.

For your safety

The Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle applies the government security directives for public establishments to ensure the safety of visitors. All visitors must comply with security checks. The Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle thanks its visitors in advance for their understanding and cooperation. Please note: items larger than 55cm x 35cm x 20cm are not accepted (reception areas, lockers, and exhibition rooms).

Reception centre

An information desk is located after the front door of the Museum, on the ground floor. Some documents are provided to allow you organize your visit : museum plan, brochure of presentation of the spaces, quarterly programmation, helping documents for the visit...

Our customer service team is also available to provide you with information and answer your questions every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except for Tuesdays, either on site or by phone at +33 (0)1 44 05 72 72.

Above the information desk, there are screens to provide you general informations (opening hours, rates, access) and the programmation of the day. 

Book & Gift Shop

In the museum’s entrance hall, the book and gift shop invites you to continue your exploration of the natural and cultural history of Mankind and offers a regularly renewed selection of books.

A collection of postcards, stationery, games, gifts and cast models complete the range.

Open during museum hours: every day, except for Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
